Arts Council England, North West

Arts Council England, North West has backed Step Up since it was initiated in 2002.It is a major funder.

Arts Learning North West (ALNW)

ALNW was one of the three founding partners of Step Up and represents a significant group of arts colleges and LEA interests across the region.

The Bridgewater Hall & Community Education Trust

The Bridgewater Hall has hosted Step Up since the first event in 2002. The Bridgewater Hall Community Education Trust is one of the three founding partners of the event.

Chetham’s School of Music

Led by Artistic Director Stephen Threlfall, Chetham's School of Music presents a programme of participatory events, which aim to encourage schools to explore the theme of this year's Step Up - A Child of Our Time. Events include a songwriting competition, composing classes, gospel workshops, sensory days and a performance of A Child of Our Time.

Cornerhouse

Cornerhouse will screen a special programme of films created by schools involved in Step Up as part of The Bigger Picture project on the Big Screen in Exchange Square, Manchester and contribute elements of the teacher training programme.

Dawsons Music

Dawsons Music, winner of this year's National Music Industries Retailer Award, is Step Up Music Technology Partner. They will stage various teacher-training roadshow events, a series of musical instrument taster sessions for youngsters and will be contributing the world record attempts.

Royal Exchange Theatre

The theatre is offering training and development opportunities for both teachers and students, using script writing masterclasses.

Guinness World Records

Step Up is delighted that Guinness World Records is supporting our 10 world records attempts.

School of Sound Recording (SSR)

SSR is hosting and lending its expertise to the Step Up band marathon recording attempt and will be running workshops in DJ technique and music production. NB Find out more about SSR’s courses at their Open Weekend 29 & 30 January.

Urbis

Urbis is one of three venues hosting Step Up art exhibitions – the other two are The Bridgewater Hall and the Great Northern Warehouse, all in Manchester.

AGMA

The Association of Greater Manchester Authorities acts as the voice of the ten local authorities of Greater Manchester and works in partnership with other organisations within the city-region.

Simon Webb Photography

The Step Up photographer. Simon was formerly Director of Folly Gallery, Lancaster and currently lectures in Photography at University College Chester, as well as working as a freelance photographer. Clients have included The Commonwealth Games, National Museums Liverpool and The Times newspaper.

Creative Partnerships

Creative Partnerships provides school children across England with the opportunity to develop creativity in learning and to take part in cultural activities of the highest quality. It aims to establish genuine collaborative partnerships to enable the development of projects that reflect the interests, specialisms and shared vision of those involved.

Youth Music

Youth Music is a national charity set up in 1999 to provide high quality and diverse music-making for 0-18 year olds. It targets young people living in areas of social and economic need who might otherwise lack opportunity and predominantly supports activities which are held outside school hours.

Specialist Schools Trust

The Specialist Schools Trust is the lead body for the Government's specialist schools programme, including the Arts Colleges that take part in Step Up and are also networked through Arts Learning NW.
